How to Make a Floral Wreath

I’ve just completed a sweet little spring project and thought I’d share with you how to make a floral wreath out of paper.

To make a floral wreath you will need:

Coloured paper in various colours for your flowers and leaves – the paper shouldn’t be too thick (between 100 – 200 gsm is best) otherwise you’ll struggle to make the folds and there will be noticeable creases in places that you don’t want them!

Square origami paper for the origami flowers – the size is up to you.

A hot glue gun and glue sticks.

Foam board or thick card for the base – the size is up to you.

Something circular to draw around or a compass.

A pencil.

A craft knife or scalpel.

Sticky tape.

A small paintbrush or something similarly round and thin that you can use to curl the flower petals.

A gift tag (optional).

Rose petal stamp.

You will need the following video tutorials in order to make the flowers:

The Rose tutorial can be found at the bottom of my previous post Bespoke Decorations and Stationery for an Autumn Wedding.

To make origami flowers I recommend this video which teaches you how to make an origami lily – rather than make a stem I use the same process to make a coloured stamen instead.

That’s it! Just click on the photos above and follow the captions – Good Luck!
